Robust Emergency Pull-Wire Switch in Ex Design

It is immediately obvious that this new switchgear has been designed specifically for rough environmental conditions and heavy-duty applications: the emergency pull-wire switch EEx ZS 90 S made by steute is equipped with a shock-proof duroplast enclosure suitable for even extreme heavy-duty service.

Inside, the EEx ZS 90 S is correspondingly durable and offers flexible actuation options with two NC and two NO contacts. Its job description is clearly defined: as soon as the operator pulls the wire connected to the turning lever of the switch, the emergency stop function is actuated and the machine or conveyor belt comes to a standstill. This safety function can be guaranteed over distances of up to 100 metres since the turning lever acts on both sides and the maximum wire length is 50 metres in each case. Once the turning lever has latched in the emergency stop position, it can only be released by actuating a lever built into the enclosure.

A typical feature of the emergency pull-wire switch made by steute is its automatic wire-pull and wire-break function: if the wire should break or be dismantled, the device will automatically switch to the emergency stop position. A comprehensive range of accessories also means that it can be adjusted to suit individual applications. Approval according to ATEX/IECEx permits application in gas-Ex zones 1 and 2, as well as in dust-Ex zones 21 and 22.

With these features, the EEx ZS 90 S is suitable for application - among others - in the mining industry, recycling technology plants and waste industry, in power stations and in the production of chemicals and building materials - even when frost, humidity and heavy-duty service affect environmental conditions.

One variant within this product range - the EEx ZS 90 SR - is available with a belt-alignment lever, applicable as a belt-alignment switch to monitor the correct run of conveyor belts.
