Eurotech Launches Catalyst EC EPIC Board Based on Intel® Atom(TM)
Eurotech's Catalyst EC Offers Low Power Intel Architecture for Industrial, Medical, and Transportation Industries
Boston, MA, October 28, 2008 - Eurotech Inc., a leading provider of application-ready embedded computer systems, today announces the launch of the Catalyst EC embedded system in an EPIC form factor. The Catalyst EC consists of Eurotech's Catalyst Module, based on the Intel® Atom(TM) processor and Intel® System Controller Hub US15W (Intel® SCH US15W), mounted to an EPIC carrier board.
Targeted for low-power, fanless, space-constrained applications such as those in industrial, medical, and transportation industries, the Catalyst EC provides an embedded solution in a small form factor that is still able to offer a rich set of features. LVDS, analog RGB video, and touchscreen interfaces take full advantage of the graphical performance of the Intel Atom. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, high-speed USB, and serial ports are part of a comprehensive list of communications and I/O capabilities. For applications requiring wireless options, support for Bluetooth, 802.11, and GPS is also available through mini-PCI Express.

OEMs can select a full featured Catalyst EC carrier board or customize according to unique application needs. Eurotech offers a range of operating system choices including Windows XP, XP Embedded, CE; Linux; and other select RTOS.
The Catalyst EC is available now. Eurotech will be showcasing a demo of the system at the Embedded Systems Conference in Boston on October 28 and 29, 2008 in the Eurotech booth, number 415.
