AAEON Releases 4 HDMI Mini-ITX Board for Premium HD Visual Experiences
Taipei, Taiwan – AAEON, a major developer of industrial computing solutions releases the EMB-A70M Mini-ITX embedded board geared towards applications that require premium high-definition visuals. Based on the AMD® R-Series APU (FP2 BGA), which offers about 30% less in power draw compared to its PGA counterpart, the low profile EMB-A70M board is more reliable and offers 4 HDMI ports right off its rear coastline. This design makes the EMB-A70M a desirable solution for up to four HD displays, such as Menu walls in retail food chains, TV walls or Gaming machines.
“The EMB-A70M, powered by AMD Embedded R-Series processor, offers parallel compute capabilitiesto suit the requirements of many embedded applications, especially those with premium high-definition visuals for up to four independent displays,” says Jill Chu, Product Manager of AAEON’s Industrial Systems Division. “Choosing to use the BGA processors with lower TDP and improved connectivity will give system integrators the freedom to build smaller and more compact enclosures,” she adds.
The EMB-A70M is designed to efficiently tackle advanced multimedia and computational workloads. Offering optional SKUs between the R-260H Dual-core APU (2.1GHz/2.6GHz) and the R-460L Quad-core APU (2.0GHz/2.8GHz), applications that previously required a discrete graphics card can now be developed with a single-chip solution in smaller Mini-ITX form factors with lower power and cost. With a dedicated graphics memory controller, and highly optimized 128-bit engine, the EMB-A70M board is capable of processing multiple pixels per clock for 2D acceleration, and offer full DirectX®11 support, including full speed 32-bit floating point per component operations, Shader Model 5, OpenCL™1.1 support and OpenGL 4.2 support in 3D acceleration.
Albeit slim in design, the new EMB-A70M embedded board still comes fully packed with stunning features, supporting one PCIe[x4], one full size miniPCIe with SIM socket, one mSATA, two SATA 6.0Gb/s, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, five USB2.0, two USB3.0, two RS-232 and one Digital I/O port.
