Comprehensive IO Functions in Embedded Box IPC

Advantech, the ePlatform service provider, is proud to announce the ARK-3202, a new industrial computing solution for compact, embedded computer applications. ARK-3202 is a comprehensive I/O Box IPC with fanless form factor, and is powered by the IntelŽ ATOM(TM) processor. ARK-3202 inherits the rugged chassis design from the ARK-3400 series, but with additional I/O interfaces, including DVI and VGA dual displays, mic in, line out, dual Giga LAN, optional 8-bit DIO, five USB 2.0, GPS on-board, and up to six serial ports with RS-422/485 auto flow control. ARK-3202 offers low power consumption and excellent flexibility, especially in the I/O interface department, which makes it highly adaptable to different applications. Advantech backs up the ARK-3202 with several convenient support services to provide buyers with a more efficient and flexible transaction process.

Comprehensive I/O Interface Satisfies Diverse Applications
ARK-3202 offers a comprehensive I/O interface that fits a variety of applications including digital signage, factory automation, and general purpose controller. Hardware auto flow control on serial ports enables the ARK-3202 to be applied in most equipment control scenarios. And the IntelŽ ATOM(TM) processor empowers multimedia performance with dual independent displays (CRT and DVI) and audio functions-an outstanding solution for digital signage.

Optional WiFi Modules and On-board GPS for Vehicle Applications
ARK-3202 offers a range of MiniPCIe interface communication modules, including WLAN and HSDPA, which are great for wireless in-vehicle applications. ARK-3202 supports a Mini PCIe 802.11 b/g/n wireless module with 5dB antenna. In addition, ARK-3202 has on-board GPS, also much in demand for in-vehicle applications. ARK-3202 is compatible with a Sierra 3.5G HSDPA modem (Siemens HC25), and WiFi/HSDPA and GPS are mutually compatible.

Low Power, Energy-saving Platform
The embedded IntelŽ ATOM(TM) N270 processor keeps power consumption down around 2.5 watts, only about half the power consumption of an IntelŽ CeleronŽ M 1.0GHz processor, which is 5.5 Watts. In addition, the typical system power consumption of ARK-3202L is 13.3 Watts. So the ATOM N270 fits right in with today's energy conscious markets.

ARK-3202 is a trusted embedded controller for chamber applications. The following environmental simulation system makes a good example. In this case, an ARK-3202 has five serial ports connected to saltwater sprayers and a touch panel. Dual displays show environmental information on a touch LCD monitor. This environmental simulation system runs 24/7 once the test process is initialized. The energy-efficient ATOM(TM) solution consumes very little power, and the savings add up during long periods of 24/7 operation.

ARK-3202 is a fanless, compact, embedded Box IPC that offers an energy efficient solution for general embedded controllers. It can run Windows XP embedded, or Linux, and will phase in at the end of November. Advantech has four worldwide hub service centers that provide peripheral assembly and RMA services.

We encourage you to survey IntelŽ ATOM(TM) embedded computer solutions. We think you'll agree that the ARK-3202 is an excellent choice. For more information about the ARK-3202 or other Box IPCs, please visit http://www.advantech.com.tw/applied-c...
