Smallest Compact Embedded Box Computer from Advantech
Advantech Embedded and Industrial Computing group has just released its newest Compact Embedded Computer-ARK-1382, the smallest media capable compact embedded computer in the ARK 1000 series. ARK-1382 delivers excellent computing and multi-media performance from its Intel® Celeron® 1.06 GHz processor and Intel 945 GM chipset. Processing and multimedia performance are high on ARK-1382's list with dual DVI-I independent displays each capable of supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio wide screen display. Excellent vibration resistance combined with dual independent configuration and rich I/O support makes ARK-1382 ideal for POS/POI, Kiosks, Gaming and Transportation applications.
ARK-1382 supports dual DVI-I (DVI + VGA) independent displays, or dual VGA clone mode display. Multiple displays can be configured via the two DVI-I connectors which allow digital and analog display combinations (DVI + VGA) with support for 16:9 aspect ratio wide screens. ARK-1382 is a fanless and ultra compact embedded computer designed with an Intel Celeron M 423 @ 1.06 GHz + 945GM chipset which provides an excellent combination of computing and multimedia performance. The system is equipped with an 802.11b/h WLAN card and supports a wide range of input voltages from 9 VDC to 35 VDC.
Even though ARK-1382 is small it still supports 5 x USB, 1 x GbE LAN, and 2 x COM ports. Embedded Windows CE or XPe (with multi-language support) is installed via a CompactFlash card of up to 8 GB, and there is support for up to 2 GB of DDR2 system memory. For flexible installation ARK-1382 can be standalone, wall-mounted, DIN-rail mounted or VESA mounted. The rugged cast aluminum case provides passive cooling for quiet fanlessoperation and easily passes 50 and 5 Grms shock and vibration tests.
ARK-1382 is one of the most compact yet powerful embedded box computers on the market. It is designed with reliability and rugged use in mind. Dual independent output configuration means any DVI/VGA display combination can be selected. DVI-I connectors support both digital and older analog VGA signals, especially useful for leveraging older display technologies and future digital display technologies.
