First Professional Open Source E-mail Marketing Software
OpenEMM E-mail Marketing Software Tops 20,000 Downloads, Now Available With New Features and New License
MUNICH, Germany, September 11 -- OpenEMM, the world's first professional open source e-mail marketing software, is now available in version 5.3. Numerous new features make the professional sending of e-mail newsletters and e-mail shots easier for the user. The license was changed to an OSI certified license.
The OpenEMM send module has been extended to now also permit the e-mail provider's mail server to be used to send the newsletter. For users with dynamic IP addresses, this optimizes sending of e-mails regarding deliverability. Alternatively, OpenEMM itself can handle the transmission.
The import of existing recipient data into OpenEMM has also become simpler - information on gender and the desired e-mail format will be automatically recognized, even when the column designation of the imported file does not correspond to the OpenEMM database. An import wizard reports sources of error such as duplicate column designations. OpenEMM possesses the capability to manage multiple users who access it. The assignation of rights to the various users has been improved such that the rights are no longer enabled individually, but can also be enabled according to topic blocks.
Further new features of OpenEMM 5.3 include:
o Simplified creation of target groups
o Display of security of password used
o Improved protection against cross-site scripting
From version 5.3, OpenEMM uses the new open source "Common Public Attribution License (CPAL)". This license was certified at the end of July by the Open Source Initiative (OSI). Users can therefore be sure that there are no hidden costs or rights limitations in OpenEMM, and that OpenEMM is certified open source software.
