Advance Introduces Powerful New e-Vision® Mini 20-Watt Electronic HID Ballast for Metal Halide Lamps

(October 5th, 2006 - Rosemont, Illinois) Advance announces the introduction of its powerful new e-Vision® 120V Mini 20-watt electronic HID ballast for ceramic metal halide lamps. Ideal for a variety of downlighting, track lighting, and accent lighting applications, Advance's Mini 20-watt ballast represents a new dimension in low-profile design and delivers both maximum performance and unprecedented design freedom to a broad range of retail, commercial, and industrial users. High performing and energy efficient, the new model joins Advance's popular and rapidly-expanding family of e-Vision ballasts to fully support the market's broad range of professional lighting needs.

Offered in a sleek and compact housing that is on par with track-mounted 12V halogen transformers, the Mini 20-watt ballast is over 37% smaller than Advance's previous 20-watt offering. Measuring just 4.3" X 1.3" X 1.2 and currently representing the smallest metal halide ballast in the industry, the Mini 20-watt ballast blends easily into modern fixture designs to promote enhanced versatility and design flexibility. The ballast delivers superior lamp wattage regulation to optimize lamp color quality over life and reduce lamp-to-lamp variations. Its electronic circuitry drives significant energy savings relative to incandescent, halogen, and magnetic HID alternatives, while its HID technology lasts three times longer than halogen and up to five times longer than incandescent options.

The Mini 20-watt ballast additionally features a 90°C maximum case temperature rating to ensure long life in high-temperature applications as well as enhanced safety features including automatic lamp power control, lamp end-of-life (EOL) detection, and lamp monitoring.

Delivering all of the benefits of electronic HID technology in a compact and versatile housing, Advance's powerful e-Vision Mini 20-watt electronic ballast for ceramic metal halide lamps heralds an exciting new generation in low-profile metal halide technology for a broader range of applications than ever before.
