August 9, 2006 - EFC(TM) combines photoelectric sensor with timing control that limits compressed air use by turning it off when no part is present during blowoff, drying, cooling, conveying, and static elimination operations. While timing control permits tuning to application requirements with various valve operating modes and timing delays, photoelectric sensor offers sensitivity adjustment and detects objects up to 3 ft away. System comes in 3 models with choice of 40, 100, or 200 scfm solenoid valve.

Electronic Flow Control for Compressed Air

EXAIR's new EFC(TM) is a user-friendly electronic flow control for compressed air that is designed to minimize compressed air use on blowoff, drying, cooling, conveying and static elimination operations. The EFC combines a photoelectric sensor with a timing control that limits compressed air use by turning it off when no part is present.

The timing control of the EFC permits easy tuning to the application requirements with numerous valve operating modes and timing delays. The compact photoelectric sensor has a sensitivity adjustment and detects objects up to 3' (1 meter) away. The sensor provides superior immunity to noise and inductive loads that are common to industrial environments and installs easily in tight spaces with the supplied mounting bracket.

The EFC has an easy electrical connection for voltages from 100V to 240VAC (50/60 Hz) that is appropriate for applications throughout the world. The NEMA 4 polycarbonate enclosure of the EFC is suitable for a wide range of applications including those in wet locations. The timing control unit and photoelectric sensor are equipped with a 9' (2.74m) power cord. Three models of the EFC are offered that include the timing control, photoelectric sensor and choice of a 40, 100 or 200 SCFM solenoid valve. Prices start at $835.
