Boxborough, Mass. – Setra Systems, Inc., a leader in precision weighing instruments, introduces its new low-range Super II™ electronic counting scale, available in 2 kg and 5 kg capacities. Designed with Setra’s patented, award-winning variable capacitance technology, the low-range Super II offers high accuracy and internal resolution set to 1 part in 1,000,000; this allows counting a part as light as 5 mg on a 5 kg unit and 2 mg on a 2 kg unit.
Setra’s low-range Super II features a database that allows long-term storage of part numbers with their associated average piece weight (APW), lot number, tare weight, total count and setpoints. A separate transaction log with a time/date stamp can also store up to ten identification fields, enabling users to better monitor and track parts counting.
Thanks to a backlit graphic LCD that provides readable prompts in clear English, the low-range Super II scale can be customized to suit specific applications. Because the scale can store up to ten different macros, a set of counting instructions can be entered that will guide even an inexperienced operator through parts receiving, kitting and shipping, cycle counting, and check weighing tasks.
With one RS232 bi-directional port for PC communication and two unidirectional ports for scale accessories, the Super II integrates easily with computer, barcode scanner, and label printers. Bar code labels with up to ten fields of text on one label can also be printed directly from the scale. Additionally, the Super II connects to a PC-2 “QWERTY” keyboard and offers portable operation with an internal battery.
