Advance Offers SmartMate® Electronic Ballast for 42-Watt CFL Lamp Applications in New 90°C Maximum Case Temperature Option

(November 22nd, 2004 – Rosemont, Illinois) Advance Transformer announces the expansion of its exclusive line of SmartMate® electronic ballasts for compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) to include a new ballast with an enhanced maximum rated case temperature of 90°C for use in applications involving two 42-Watt CFLs.

Previously only offered in a version with a maximum rated case temperature of 75°C, Advance’s newly-enhanced 90°C case temperature ballast option is ideally suited to those applications where standard two-lamp 42-Watt CFL ballasts might operate too hot. The new ballasts will offer increased design flexibility to fixture manufacturers and enable the use of 2 X 42-Watt CFLs in a broader range of applications than previously feasible.

As with all SmartMate models, Advance’s new 90°C case temperature-rated ballasts for two 42-Watt CFLs sport the exclusive SmartMate features, which include Intellivolt® technology (allowing the ballasts to operate at any input voltage from 120 to 277 volts, 50/60Hz), dual entry, color coded connectors, THD below 10%, programmed start lamp ignition for extended lamp life in frequent switching applications, and end-of-lamp-life protection. The ballasts also carry Advance’s standard 5-year warranty and qualify for Advance's exclusive PLUS 90 Protection®, which matches any lamp manufacturer's published lamp-ballast system warranty, plus adds 90 days of additional warranty protection--both lamp and ballast.

Catalog numbers for Advance’s new 90°C case temperature SmartMate CFL ballasts for 2-lamp 42-Watt CFL applications are ICF-2S42-90C-M2-LD (length mounting feet option) and ICF-2S42-90C-M2-BS (bottom stud mounting option).

Advance Transformer Company, a leading ballast manufacturer based in Rosemont, Illinois, manufactures a full line of electronic and magnetic fluorescent and magnetic and electronic HID ballasts as well as a broad family of drivers for LED light sources.
