Metabo's New Electronic 6" Angle Grinder Ensures User Safety

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, now offers an electronic 6" angle grinder/cut-off machine with a non-locking paddle switch. The WEP14-150 Quick "Deadman" increases user safety by turning off automatically when released or dropped.

With a long lasting 12.2 A motor, the most powerful available in Metabo's small angle grinder line, the WEP14-150 Quick is ideal for welders, pipe fitters, plumbers, steam fitters, mechanical contractors and those in the metal fabrication and mechanical trades. For remarkable comfort during prolonged work periods, Metabo's Vibratech (MVT) side handle reduces vibration up to 60%, lowering the risk of white finger syndrome, while its 'racket' grip design ensures secure operation at all times.

The grinder also features a Quick toolless wheel change system that saves time and energy when replacing wheels, making the operator more efficient. In addition to its non-locking paddle switch, other tool safety features include a burst proof locking wheel guard with seven positions and the Metabo "S-Automatic" safety slip clutch to help protect the operator from kickback by absorbing the torque created should the wheel bind or snag.

Metabo's WEP14-150 Quick "Deadman" also has one of the most effective dust protection systems available. The system includes an encapsulated on/off switch and auto-stop carbon brushes, double-lipped labyrinth sealed bearings, Metabo's unique dust-deflecting winding protection grid and epoxy coated field coil windings.

The angle grinder's advanced electronics include an electronic winding temperature monitor with LED display for overload protection, electronic soft start feature for comfort and electronic speed stabilization for maximum productivity.

The grinder weighs just 6.1 lbs and delivers 1,400 watts of power, 31 inch-lbs of torque and a no-load speed of 9,000 rpm.
