Lincoln Electric Adds Three New Electrodes to its Pipeliner® Line

Consumables designed for enhanced performance on downhill pipe applications

Stick LH-D GroupCleveland - Lincoln Electric has added three new electrodes - the Pipeliner® LH-D80, LH-D90 and LH-D100 - to its line of Pipeliner® products. These new low hydrogen consumables are ideal for downhill pipe welding applications on high strength cross country pipelines.

The new Pipeliner® consumables are recommended for fill and cap pass welding, as well as pipe repair and hot tapping applications. Specifically designed for downhill pipe welding, these low hydrogen electrodes have higher deposition rates, depositing more weld metal with each pass when compared to cellulosic electrodes. This requires fewer passes to fill each weld joint, drastically increasing productivity.

Each electrode is designed for welding line pipe up to a specified strength with superior performance. The Pipeliner® LH-D80 is recommended for use with up to X70 grade, the Pipeliner® LH-D90 up to X80 grade and the Pipeliner® LH-D100 up to X90 grade pipe. All electrodes feature enhanced user features such as a smooth arc, excellent puddle control and lower spatter levels.

With Lincoln Electric's Integrated Silicate Technology(TM), these electrodes feature extremely low hydrogen levels (classified as AWS H4R - 4 mL of hydrogen per 100 grams of metal) for reduced chances of hydrogen-induced cracking. An Easy Strike® tapered tip enables easy touch start arc initiation for minimal starting porosity

Each Pipeliner® LH-D electrode also carries the new AWS Classification, EXXX45-P2, specifically designated for downward progression welding in line pipe applications, helping operators select the most reliable pipeline welding consumables.

All consumables are manufactured and certified according to lot control standards, per AWS A5.5, Class 3 Schedule I, as well as Charpy V-notch testing at -40°C (-40°F). Actual certificates of tests are available online at www.lincolnelectric.com.

The Lincoln Electric Company, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of arc welding products, robotic arc-welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment and has a leading global position in the brazing and soldering alloys market.
