April 1, 2003 - Electro-Optic Components, including 1310 nm Fabry-Perot Laser and 1310 nm InP PIN Diodes, come in various packaging styles ranging from TO-56 to metalized receptacles with LC and SC interfaces. TO-56 Lasers and LC Metalized Receptacles are rated for up to 2.5 Gb/s in operating conditions from -40 to +85°C. InP PIN Diodes are rated for up to 3.125 Gb/s. Case Anode and Common Anode pin-out options are available on all components.

Tyco Electronics Offers Expanded Line of Electro-Optic Packaged Components


Harrisburg, PA, March 24, 2003 - Tyco Electronics introduces an expanded line of electro-optic packaged components, including 1310nm Fabry-Perot Lasers and 1310nm PIN Diodes in various packaging styles ranging from TO-56 to metalized receptacles with LC and SC interfaces. All packaged components are designed and have been tested to comply with Telcordia GR-468-CORE specifications.

Tyco Electronics' TO-56 Lasers and LC Metalized Receptacles are rated for up to 2.5 Gb/s in operating conditions to -40º C to +85º C. The packaged InP PIN Diodes are rated for up to 3.125 Gb/s. Two pin-out options are available on all components - Case Anode and Common Anode.

"We have proven that our Buried Heterostructure Strained Quantum Well device exhibits greater than 20 years reliability at 85º C with no failures, demonstrating outstanding reliability and robust design," comments Dr. Bill Ring, Director of Development and General Manager for Device and Transceiver Manufacturing.
