4-in-1 Electrical Safety Tester Now Offers an RS-232 Interface!

Lake Forest, Illinois, November 2008 - Announced today by Slaughter Company is the addition of a RS-232 serial interface to their 4320, enhanced 4-in-1 electrical safety tester. The RS-232 is available as an optional feature and now allows for the direct connection of the 4320 to a PC. This provides users with the benefit of being able to setup the instrument remotely through the PC which allows for quick and accurate configuration of all test parameters. In addition to this in compliance with many safety agency requirements it becomes a very simple process to download all test results directly to a PC for record keeping of electrical safety tests.

The 4320 already enjoys a reputation in the industry for its reliability and its ease of use. The addition of an RS-232 interface to this tester now offers customers a 4-in-1 instrument with the latest technology and safety features together with the benefits of entry-level automation, all at a cost-effective price.

The 4320 will perform the four most common electrical safety tests, AC Hipot, DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance and Ground Bond, through one Device Under Test (DUT) connection. In AC Hipot mode, the 4320 can output up to 5 KV at 20 mA and in DC Hipot mode it will output up to 6 KV at 5 mA. The Insulation Resistance test mode offers a test range of up to 1000 Megohms while the Ground Bond test mode provides up to 30 Amps of test current.

The 4320 provides common features and technology needed to cost-effectively perform production line safety testing. The simple menu driven setup allows manufacturers to quickly program and save individual test parameters. The 4320 also offers six memories that provide six steps per memory. This is a benefit for manufacturers that have multiple products on the same production line, eliminating the need to re-program the tester each time a different product needs to be tested. The optional RS-232 Interface now provides manufacturers the opportunity to perform their electrical safety tests remotely. In addition, the 4320 offers features like electronic ramp and dwell, and milliohm offset, all of which help maintain consistent test results.
