Quadtech Releases Captivate HXV - The Latest in Automation Software

CaptivATE HXV, the newest product in the CaptivATE family, helps customers increase throughput

Marlborough, MA - QuadTech, a leading provider of AC/DC power sources and electrical safety test and passive component measurement solutions, today released CaptivATE HXV, a new product from the CaptivATE family, providing an industry first solution for multipoint high voltage isolation and continuity testing.

CaptivATE HXV is the answer to automated testing for multiple product points and accurately performing AC/DC Hipot, Insulation Resistance, DC Resistance, Continuity, LCR, Megohmmeter and functional tests with up to 128 points. This solution is ideal for testing cable harnesses in the automotive and aerospace industry, medical cabling, and switches. Similar to the original CaptivATE automation software, testing is made simple and fast by automatically downloading the test setup, conducting the required measurements and outputting the test results. HXV provides higher voltage testing than traditional cable testers at 5000VDC and 3500AC.

HXV introduces a new mode with the ability to see all steps in sequence with pass/fail for each step. This enables the software upon a failed step to either terminate testing at that step or mark the failed step and continue testing all points. Another attractive feature of CaptivATE HXV is automatic serialization. Tested products are automatically supplied new and unique serial number which will help increase throughput and save overall testing time.

QuadTech's V.P. of Technical Operations Robert M. Brown says, "CaptivATE HXV was designed based upon customer requests for a product similar to a cable tester with high voltage testing capability and the ability to test for leakage or insulation resistance from one point to another. Being a software-based solution, data can be collected and stored into a database for SPC and historical recall, making it ideal for medical and aerospace customers."

CaptivATE HXV shares some similar user-friendly features to its 3.3 counterpart, including document retrieval during testing for operators, XML, CSV, and Word output, and plant-wide implementation, allowing multiple installations of CaptivATE to share the same database and central data location.

The software's fetch function makes extensive use of the Fetch command. Once the measuring instrument is configured, the HXV software scans through channels of the matrix, triggers a measurement and quickly records the measure values.

CaptivATE automates the process of electrical safety testing when used with QuadTech's Guardian 1000 Series, 6000 Plus, 6100 Plus, Hybrid 2000, Matrix 8000, 1730T instruments, Cytec HXV Switching System, and IET Labs. 1865 Plus.
