The innovative, space-saving design of the Spacemaster® SX Electric Wire Rope Hoist features a two-speed motor and reliable load handling to effectively lift and assemble components for wind turbines of diverse sizes and configurations. The Spacemaster® SX contains a large diameter rope drum that also allows easy positioning, closer approaches, smooth movement, and fast load positioning of nacelle components. The size and scale of wind turbine nacelles requires accurate control of hoist motion to precisely set equipment. The large drum diameter of the Spacemaster® SX provides near true vertical lift with a single reeved hoist.
The quality-engineered Spacemaster® SX Electric Wire Rope Hoist from R&M provides efficient and dependable operation, delivering a long service life with reduced maintenance costs. The hoist motor is class F insulated with a 60% effective duty and thermally protected. The unique drum design extends equipment life through minimized rope wear and enhanced motor cooling. Designed to reduce stress on drum bearings, the gearbox extends component life, and the sealed trolley brakes require minimal adjustment over one million cycles. The Spacemaster® SX is also equipped with a standard four-position hoist limit switch that includes a phase mismatch protection circuit to prevent the block from coming into contact with the hoist.
