January 30, 2002 - No. 886 dual-chamber furnace comprises upper chamber with operating temperature to 2200 deg F and lower chamber with operating temperature to 1250 deg F. Nickel-chrome wire coils, supported by ceramic plates, provide 40 kW of heat (20 kW in each chamber). Each chamber has 6 in. thick walls made from 2 in. of 2300 deg F ceramic fiber and 4 in. of block insulation. Both chambers have individual digital-programming temperature controllers.

Dual-Chamber Bench Furnace From Grieve

No. 886 is a dual-chamber electric bench furnace from Grieve, currently used tor a variety of heat treating applications at a customer's facility. This unit comprises an upper chamber with
operating temperatures to 2200 deg F and lower chamber with operating temperatures to 1250 deg F. Workspace dimensions measure 12"Wx24"Dxl2"H in the upper chamber and 12"Wx20"Dxl2"H
in the lower chamber.

40 kW total are installed in nickel chrome wire coils supported by ceramic plates, 20 kW in each chamber, to provide heat. Heat-resistant alloy recirculating blowers, powered by l/2-HP motors, provide horizontal front-to-rear airflow in each chamber.

Each furnace chamber has 6" thick walls made from 2" of 2300 deg F ceramic fiber and 4" of block insulation. Ceramic hearth plates support the workload in each chamber.

Both heating chambers have individual digital programming temperature controllers. A Partlow MCR5000 2-pen circular chart recorder tracks the temperature in both chambers.
