Preferred Rubber Introduces Dupont(TM) Vamac® SEC Compounds For Automotive And Non-Automotive Industry Applications

Ideal for Suspension and Steering Systems

Barberton, OH-Preferred Rubber Compounding Corporation (PRCC), a leading provider of high quality, custom mixed rubber compounds, introduces its line of Vamac® ethylene-acrylic (AEM) specialty elastomer compounds. The Vamac compounds are part of the company's series of specialty elastomer compounds (SECs), which are ideal for a variety of both automotive and non-automotive transportation applications.

Preferred Rubber's Vamac compounds are designed for use in parts having contact with engine oil or air at temperatures up to 170ºC. Typical uses include suspension and steering system components. For example, PRCC's Vamac compounds are commonly used in oscillation dampers, which often need resistance to heat generated by catalytic converters. Other uses for Vamac compounds include oil coolant hoses in turbocharged engines, seals for valve covers and oil suction hoses.

"In meeting the needs of any application, the selection of the right compound is the most important step," said Tim Eburne, President/CEO of Preferred Rubber. "Choosing one of our ready-to-go compounds gets you to the right compound more quickly than your competition. All Preferred Rubber specialty elastomer compounds are designed for processability, handling, stability and consistency, without ever compromising quality."

To maintain the broadest line of specialty products, Preferred Rubber has a cross-licensing agreement with Gummiwerk KRAIBURG GmbH of Germany. KRAIBURG is one of the recognized leaders in Europe for specialty elastomer compounds.
