ITT Expands Express Card Offering with 26-Pin Edge Card Connectors and Cover Sets

SANTA ANA, Calif. - August 5, 2008 - ITT Interconnect Solutions, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of connectors, interconnects, and cable assemblies, has expanded its express card product offering with 26-pin connectors. Available with multiple off-sets, snap-on and ultrasonic weld cover sets, customized end caps, host connectors and single slot ejectors, the edge card connectors and cover sets meet the PCMCIA industry's demand for 34mm- and 54mm-wide modules.
"The expanded product range allows us to better meet customers specific requirements in a variety of applications," said Keith Teichmann, director of marketing for ITT Interconnect Solutions. "With a universal slot design and module formats measuring 5mm deep by 75mm long, the connectors and cover sets enable both 34mm and 54mm Express Cards to fit in the same aperture, allowing us to also provide customers with a component count savings."
The 26-pin connector features a lifespan of 10,000 mating cycles, while the stainless steel cover sets are quick and easy to assembly and can be snapped together or ultrasonically welded. The connectors and cover sets meet all PCMCIA EC requirements.
Typical applications for the Express Card connectors and cover sets include notebook/desktop computers, storage media and server memory cards, wireless and wired communications, set-top boxes and handheld scanners, and security ID and biometric devices.
