May 27, 2011 - Designed for lifting equipment and machines with variable speed, such as elevators or escalators, FVDB series offers ratings from 7-250 A and can operate in applications with nominal voltages of 520 Vac 50/60 Hz; 720 Vac version is also available. Products are built according to EN60939 and UL1283 standards and satisfy 2004/108/EC directive, according to EN12015:2005 standard, for EMC conductive emission tests. Connections are made with safety terminal blocks sized according to current.

PREMO EMC Filters for Lifts and Escalators. New FVDB Series.

Current elevation systems works with variable speed, acceleration and braking, in order to achieve the desired comfort level. This is achieving with the electrical motors of the installation controlled by the ac drives. These ac drives work in switching mode and generate numerous electromagnetic interferences. These electromagnetics interferences must be attenuated with an EMC filter to assure disturbances below the maximum allowed by the norm applied. Premo EMC filters includes in its broad range portfolio, EMC filters specially designed for lifting equipment and machines with variable speed, such as elevators or escalators.

The current European Directive for elevators includes the EMC tests according to European Norm EN12015:2005. The new FVDB family is specially designed to satisfy the 2004/108/EC directive, according to EN12015:2005 standard, for EMC conductive emission tests.

The new family is available from 7 to 250A and can operate in applications with nominal voltages of 520 Vac 50/60 Hz, although the 720Vac version is also available. Connections are made with safety terminal blocks, sized according to the current. Filters are easy to install with a very compact size.

Premo EMC has developed a manual of best practices to minimize the conductive emissions of the installation where these devices are installed. This manual includes recommended schemes to help meet the limits established by the EN12015:2005 standard.

Other families suitable for these applications are:

-FVDT series (7A to 130A)
-FVDT-D series (6A to 28A)
-FVSB series (7A to 180A)
-FVRB series (35A to 300A)
-P-0999 series (16A to 55A)

PREMO EMC filters have been designed and built according to EN60939 and UL1283 standards.

These are the compulsorily standards of Europe and USA applicable in the construction of EMC filters. They are also accepted at any other international market.

Premo EMC has a long experience in the development of EMC filters for lift equipment (lifts, escalators, etc.). These filters have been developed to fulfill the specific needs of this application in terms of attenuation levels, volume, weight, connections, etc. Premo continuously improves its EMC filter designs, in collaboration with development centers, universities, suppliers and customers, innovating in new technologies such as IPEM and introducing new magnetic materials (nanomaterials, new alloys, etc.) to achieve optimum results in operation mode, reliability, size and efficiency.

PREMO recommends the use of this EMC filter in new or existing designs. You can always visit PREMO website to see our EMC filter product range: www.grupopremo.com

Premo EMC has fixed and on-site laboratories to carry out the EMC tests in machines or installations of its customers and a solution is given or suggested in order to fulfill a specific EMC standard.
