Equivio Releases Zoom, an E-Discovery Platform for Predictive Coding and Analytics

Single Integrated Platform Enables Easier, Faster and Smarter E-Discovery

KENSINGTON, Md., -- Equivio, a provider of analytical solutions for e-discovery, announced today that it has launched Equivio Zoom, a single integrated platform for predictive coding and analytics. The Zoom platform makes it easier for law firms, corporate legal teams and service providers to integrate best-of-breed analytics across their existing e-discovery workflows. Equivio will demonstrate Zoom, which is now available to customers, at LegalTech New York 2012.

Zoom combines Equivio's best-of-breed near-duplicates, email threads and relevance components together with data import and export, early case assessment and enriched analytics. These components are seamlessly integrated on a unified web-based platform for easy access and use. The unified platform approach eliminates the need for moving data between applications, shortening data handling cycles and reducing the risk of errors.

"Until now, e-discovery analytics were a closed garden, demanding complex integration efforts, and users with specialist technical skills," said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. "Zoom changes all of that. Zoom is simple to deploy and easy to use. For the first time, this brings analytical technology into the e-discovery mainstream. The accessibility of Zoom allows organizations to build predictive coding and analytics into their standard e-discovery workflows. This is important. The earlier your attorneys can get their eyes on a meaningfully organized document collection, the better you are able to control the litigation process." Zoom is built around a simple, intuitive e-discovery flow:

-- Import - Zoom extracts text and metadata from raw ingest, and generates data profiles for ECA.

-- Analysis - Zoom subjects the data to multi-layered analysis, including de-duping, near-duping, email threading and language detection. Zoom's search environment enables keyword analysis and metadata faceting.

-- Relevance - Zoom's predictive coding application organizes documents by relevance. Relevance is "trained" by attorneys to assess documents for responsiveness and privilege.

-- Export - Zoom uses relevance scores, keywords and metadata to select relevant documents for export. Zoom then creates review batches, designed to keep like documents together in downstream review. Finally, Zoom exports native files, full text and metadata to the relevant review platform.

Milo continued, "Zoom facilitates flexible implementation strategies. Zoom can be installed directly within the corporate or law firm firewall, or as the analytical core of an e-discovery provider's service offering. Moreover, Zoom's web-based architecture allows our partners to position themselves ahead of the market with an e-discovery-in-the-cloud solution powered by best-of-breed predictive coding and analytics."

Milo concluded, "Zoom is an accessible, intuitive vehicle of innovation in e-discovery. The Relevance application is continually spawning new e-discovery strategies. A good example is stratified review, where review assignments take account of a document's potential importance. Zoom also enables remarkable cross-analytical synergies, generated when you subject the data to multiple analytical prisms. From our point of view, the great thing about the Zoom platform is that it makes these innovations much more accessible to the e-discovery user."

Based on Equivio's product roadmap, subsequent versions of Zoom will incorporate additional features and enhancements, including conceptual search, clustering, distributed processing and next generation data mining.
