JohnsonDiversey announces the first dust-mop system that picks up trash and dirt in one sweep
STURTEVANT, WI - [March 27, 2006] - By combining two essential floor-cleaning tools - a dust mop and a dust pan - JohnsonDiversey, Inc. has developed the industry's first dust-mop cleaning system for increased cleaning effectiveness and productivity.
The new DuoClean" Dust Mop System from JohnsonDiversey is a large dust pan with a dust mop head attached to the bottom of the pan. The DuoClean dust pan has a beveled edge, which is designed to pick up large debris while the DuoClean disposable synthetic non-woven dust cloth captures dirt particles. An attached utility broom helps sweep large debris into the dustpan.
The system was developed in response to retail customers' frustration regarding the use of traditional dust mops. Customers explained that the cost to rent and launder dust mops was high and performance was not acceptable. Cleaning workers were struggling to maneuver mops pushing piles of dirt and debris around the facility because dirt often would fly over the top of the mop. Workers also had to leave piles of dirt unattended while they searched for a dust pan. Meanwhile, people would walk over the dirt pile or drive over it with shopping carts and pallet jacks, spreading it across the floor.
JohnsonDiversey experts developed prototypes and worked with customers every step of the way until they had perfected the DuoClean system. The system increased mopping performance, provided labor savings and lowered the overall cost of mopping equipment.
The DuoClean system is easy to use and cleans floors quickly as it captures dirt and debris simultaneously. Other features and benefits include:
o More effective cleaning - Workers will always use a fresh disposable dust-mop head, which ensures better dust pick-up. Keeping dust off the floor will help maintain floor finish and prevent scratching. Each woven sheet is durable enough to clean 20,000 square feet.
o Ergonomic - The DuoClean system smoothly glides along multiple floor surfaces and its swivel head easily changes direction. Operator strain and fatigue is further reduced because there is no need for workers to squat or bend to pick up dirt and debris.
