MonoSol LLC Introduces TerraLOC(TM), a Family of Dust Palliative and Dust Abatement Products That Improve Worker Safety

MERILLVILLE, Ind., Jan. 31 -- MonoSol LLC, the world leader in developing and commercializing specialty water-soluble polymer-based films, introduces TerraLOC(TM), a family of dust palliative and dust abatement products. Ideal for a variety of military and civilian applications, TerraLOC can be applied to unpaved roads, mines, airfields, helipads and other locations to reduce airborne dust and improve worker safety.

MonoSol developed its patent-pending PVOH-based TerraLOC family of dust abatement products using nanotechnology that enhances the physical characteristics of the water-soluble compound. This cost-effective, high performance dust control product is biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

TerraLOC is easy to apply and quick to cure. A wide variety of hand-held sprayers, agricultural sprayers, helicopter sprayers and other types of sprayers can be used without modification to apply TerraLOC. Spraying equipment is easily cleaned with hot or cold water -- no solvents are needed.

Once cured, TerraLOC stabilizes soil and abates dust, working as an anchoring agent for soil, sand, vegetation and loose leaves. Acting like a net, TerraLOC impregnates the unbound or un-compacted material that overlays the sub-grade.

"Since 1953, MonoSol has been an industry leader, tirelessly introducing innovative products that customers can rely on. With the introduction of TerraLOC, we're using our expertise to solve mission critical problems," noted Christian Rath, Director of Global Business Development at MonoSol. "We are now negotiating supply agreements for TerraLOC in a number of major civilian and military industries, looking to establish long term relationships."

In the mining and construction industries, TerraLOC helps stabilize soil and reduce airborne dust, which leads to improved worker safety and reduced exposure to injury-related lawsuits. Companies striving to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency's clean air act are especially interested in this new solution.

In the military industry, TerraLOC improves the safety of troops and enhances vehicle performance by minimizing brown-out conditions that have proven problematic at airfields, helipads and other locations. MonoSol's Vender Business Agreement with VSE Corporation, a prime contractor for the CECOM Rapid Response (R2) Program, allows MonoSol to quickly supply U.S. federal agencies.
