Featuring tack-free edges, Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 removes cleanly from opaque surfaces for up to 6 months, even after exposure to sunlight and temperature extremes. Used indoors and outdoors, product can stay on job without deterioration for up to one year. Available in various widths and colors, it meets UL 723, HUD, and BOCA codes. Performance Plus Duct Tape Nuclear Grade 8979N, also available, is certified to meet low halogen and sulfur levels.

3M Rolls Out Advanced Duct Tape - Another Industry First
St. Paul, Minn. - November 18, 2005 - Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 from 3M features unique UV and water resistance properties for improved removal and extended service life both indoors and outdoors. The tape removes cleanly from most opaque surfaces for up to six months, even after exposure to sunlight and temperature extremes, virtually eliminating the hassle of removing sticky residue. The tape stays on the job without deterioration for up to a year, even when sun baked and rain beaten.
Performance Plus Duct Tape 8979 has the excellent adhesion associated with all 3M duct tapes, yet it unwinds easily from the roll, reducing user fatigue. The proprietary construction provides straight, easy tear with high tensile strength. Special tack-free edges help keep the roll clean and minimize waste. The new tape meets UL 723, HUD and BOCA codes and is available in a variety of widths and colors, including slate blue, black, and olive. Performance Plus Duct Tape Nuclear Grade 8979N is certified to meet low halogen and sulfur levels. A copy of the certification is included in each case. That tape is available in red and slate blue.
