February 17, 2012 - With PathWay® Model 7296, user can share 2 single-port MDR interface devices and 2 single-port MXR interface devices among 2 other devices for each channel. All 4 channels are switched simultaneously via front panel pushbutton or via serial remote control operation. With USB Type-A connector on rear panel that accepts ASCII RS232 serial data commands, user can control switch position, lockout front panel operations, and obtain switch status from remote location.

2-Channel MDR/MXR A/B Switch with RS232 Serial Remote Control


The PathWay® Model 7296 Dual MDR/MXR A/B Switch from Electro Standards Laboratories allows the user the capability of sharing 2 single port MDR interface devices and 2 single port MXR interface devices among two other devices for each channel. All four channels are switched simultaneously via front panel pushbutton or via RS232 serial remote control operation.

The Model 7296 features a USB Type-A connector on rear panel that accepts ASCII RS232 Serial Data commands to allow the user to control switch position, lockout front panel operations and obtain switch status from a remote location. The switch ports of the unit are transparent to all data speed and format with all 6 pins of the MXR interface and pins 1 through 20 of the MDR interface switched. The switch also maintains position on power loss and continues to pass data. The Model 7296 also has an optional CE, RoHS, and UL listed table mount power module, 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz in place of standard, available as Cat.No.517277.
