Zap-Serts are threaded inserts for multiple insertion applications in plastics and thermoplastics. With identical leads at both ends, fasteners may be positioned for acceptance by high-speed automated machinery. Solid brass units feature radial barbs that resist pull-out and torque. Thread sizes range from 4-40 in. to 5/16-18 in. and M3 to M8. Custom sizes are available in most user-specified materials.

New Dual-Lead Inserts Speed High-Volume Installation in Plastics
The "Zap-Sert", a threaded insert designed for multiple insertion applications (ultrasonic, thermal, and strict ID hole tolerance for molding in-place) in plastics and thermoplastics, is offered by Yardley Products Corp. With identical leads at both ends, the fastener may be easily positioned for acceptance by high-speed automated machinery. The inserts are made of solid brass and feature radial barbs that strongly resist pull-out and torque. The units are available from stock with thread sizes ranging from 4-40" to 5/16-18" and in metric from M3 to M8. Custom sizes are also available in most user-specified materials.
