Dry-Running Mixer Seals Meet ASME-BPE 2009 Cleanability Standards

A new line of dry-running mechanical seals for mixers, agitators, and reactors that meets the ASME-BPE 2009 standards for cleanability is being introduced by Sharpe Mixers, Inc. of Seattle, Washington.

Sharpe RD Dry-Running Mechanical Seals were developed for sanitary applications where product contamination from barrier fluids is unacceptable. Capable of handling a 0.150" total run-out, these fully BPE compliant seals feature a proprietary carbon blend that virtually eliminates the face squeal typical of other brands, and are supplied with or without a debris well.

Suitable replacements for Flowserve® Type VRA, John Crane® Type 32, and others, Sharpe RD Dry-Running Mechanical Seals feature sloped internal sur-faces to facilitate drainage and enhance cleanability, including the debris well flush ports. Internal metallic parts exposed to product have a 20 Ra finish with optional electro-polishing and all components are either FDA approved or USP Class VI rated.

Sharpe RD Dry-Running Mechanical Seals are priced according to configur-tion and quantity. Price quotations are available upon request.
