Dry-Erase Paint Eliminates Need to Replace Chalkboards

A new, durable dry-erase paint that can recoat chalkboards and worn white-boards, creating a new surface without their removal and related replacement costs has been introduced by IdeaPaint, Inc. of Ashland, Massachusetts.

IdeaPaint® dry-erase paint creates a surface finish that is more durable than a conventional whiteboard and can recoat existing chalkboards and worn whiteboards instead of replacing them. Eliminating the cost of purchasing new boards and the removal of old ones, this paint is suitable for all dry-erase markers and outperforms all other dry-erase surfaces, claims the firm*.

Effectively providing a new whiteboard without tearing down old chalkboards and negatively impacting the environment, IdeaPaint® dry-erase paint can also be applied to any wall. By converting previously unused spaces into new teaching areas, this paint lets students write everywhere and collaborate more easily. It applies by roller and is offered in a variety of colors.

IdeaPaint® dry-erase paint costs approx. $3.50 per sq. ft., is packaged in 50 sq. ft. kits, and includes a full warranty. *Performance and longevity test results are available upon request.
