February 18, 2003 - MICROCAT®-DNT Drain and Trap Cleaner, suited for institutional drain and trap cleaning, consists of adapted microorganisms that liquefy fat, oil, and grease to prevent blockages. It also contains enzymes and biodegradable surfactants to keep drains and traps free flowing. MICROCAT-DNT-TH has additional microorganisms that reduce sulfur-containing gases, while MICROCAT-DNT-HT contains heat-resistant enzymes that dissolve deposits in severe environments.

Bioscience Introduces New Drain and Trap Cleaners
BETHLEHEM, PA (January 28, 2003) - Bioscience, Inc. has introduced two new versions of its bioformula, MICROCAT®-DNT Drain and Trap Cleaner, for individual institutional drain and trap cleaning. Biological drain and trap cleaners are becoming widely used because of municipal bans on toxic chemical solvents.
MICROCAT-DNT is a blend of preselected, adapted microorganisms that liquefy fat, oil and grease (FOG) to prevent blockages. It also contains enzymes and biodegradable surfactants to keep drains and traps free-flowing.
One version of the bioformula, MICROCAT-DNT-TH has additional microorganisms selected for their ability to reduce the sulfur-containing gases that cause odors in grease trap and plumbing line FOG accumulations.
The second new product, MICROCAT-DNT-HT, is designed specifically for restaurants that discharge hot water directly into grease traps. High temperatures may inactivate the typical microorganisms that liquefy FOG deposits. HT contains heat-resistant enzymes that continue to dissolve deposits in severe environments.
All MICROCAT-DNT products are sold in the form of free-flowing powders to be mixed with water and applied directly to the drain or trap. For applications where a liquid is preferred, MICROCAT-GEL liquid drain cleaner is used.
