LRS Announces Downtime Reporting Solution for Healthcare

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Today, Levi Ray & Shoup, Inc. (LRS) announced a new extension to its PageCenterX(®) content management solution. PageCenterX/Satellite((TM)) software is designed to provide downtime reporting capabilities to healthcare organizations during planned or unplanned system outages. LRS is releasing the product for general availability, effective today.

"In the healthcare environment, EMR applications experience outages for a variety of reasons," said John Howerter, LRS Senior Vice President of Enterprise Output Management. "Network outages, hardware failures, and other problems can prevent clinicians from accessing information needed for patient care. Our new solution ensures timely access to documents for business process continuity during downtime events. While these capabilities are beneficial in any industry, they are absolutely critical in healthcare settings."

All of a hospital's sensitive healthcare documents can be stored on a central PageCenterX server, which communicates with high-availability PageCenterX/Satellite workstations in remote user departments. Each PageCenterX/Satellite workstation receives only the specific documents relevant to that department, nursing station, or patient population. Reports are synchronized on a regular basis, ensuring that there is always an up-to-date copy in case of a scheduled or unplanned downtime event. In addition to providing care continuity, the solution can enhance the security of sensitive information, decrease the need for hardcopy backup reports, and improve policies for securing protected health information per HIPAA "Final Rule" guidelines.
