October 23, 2006 - Using non-invasive transducer, hand-held UFX Flow Meter provides fluid velocity assessment without opening pipe. It contains 2 piezoelectric crystals within one transducer to transmit ultrasonic energy into fluid stream and receive reflected energy off discontinuities within moving liquid. Measuring fluid velocities from 0.3-30.0 fps, meter operates on metal or plastic pipes containing liquids with greater than 100 ppm of 100 micron size suspended solids or entrained gases.

Hand-Held Doppler Reaches Stable Reading Within Seconds

Providing accurate, fluid velocity assessment without opening the pipe is what Dynasonics UFX flow meter achieves. This hand-held meter utilizes a non-invasive transducer which is placed on the outside of the pipe. Its advanced ultrasonic measuring technique contains two piezoelectric crystals within one transducer to transmit ultrasonic energy into the fluid stream and receive reflected energy off discontinuities within the moving liquid. Within seconds, the large 0.7" (18mm) LCD provides stable readings in feet per second or meters per second.

This easy-to-use, hand-held transducer provides accurate flow readings on applications such as dredging systems, crude oil, sludges and waste slurries. It measures fluid velocities from 0.3 to 30.0 FPS with a 100:1 turndown ratio. The UFX operates on metal or plastic pipes containing liquids with greater than 100 ppm of 100 micron size suspended solids or entrained gases. The cost-effective Doppler is for closed full pipe sizes ¼" (6mm) and higher.

Dynasonics' UFX series is designed with ease of installation and programming, almost no maintenance and long service life. The Dynasonics team is committed to continuous product development, providing for the demands of the future and meeting the challenges of all environments.
