Honeywell and PAS Announce Release of DOC3000 Version 3.4
PHOENIX, Arizona, July 23, 2002 - The Automation & Control Solutions Service strategic business unit of Honeywell [NYSE:HON] and Plant Automation Services (PAS), Inc. today announced a new release of the DOC3000® software solution for comprehensive electronic database management and documentation of Honeywell's TPS and TDC 3000® process control systems. DOC3000 Version 3.4 focuses on improved documentation for connected Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and other devices by supporting the Communication Link Module (CLM), the Logic Manager (LM), and the Tricon Safety Manager Module (SMM).
"PAS worked in close collaboration with Honeywell and its customers to define and implement the most often requested enhancements in this release," stated Dennis Ahrens, Vice President of Research and Development, and Business Director of the Integrity.MOC Business Unit at PAS.
Jay Pittas, Vice President of Honeywell ACS Service stated, "DOC3000 3.4 will clearly help our customers better integrate information across the plant or mill floor. The addition of the CLM, LM, and Tricon SMM provides significant additional coverage of the TPS system, and essentially completes the offering for all supported system nodes."
Specifically, DOC3000 Version 3.4 includes the following new enhancements:
CLM Support - Displays the CLM architecture and information at the board, port, device, PIT, and PITE levels. PIT Groups are also indicated.
Logic Manager Support - Provides the LM box/slot configuration and point database (with all appropriate linkages to CL, Schematics, FFLs, Control Maps, etc.) on the LCN Overview. Also displays ladder programs with line cross-references, allows ladder programs to be linked to LMMs, and displays a Data Directory with a summary of tag information.
Tricon SMM Support - Tricon data is now available for both SMM and EPLCG connections.
Tag Cross-reference Export - The existing stand-alone tool is integrated into DOC3000 allowing tag cross-references to be exported to a tab-delimited text file.
Point Detail: Copy to Clipboard - The point detail information can be copied onto the clipboard for use in other applications.
GUS Graphics BMP Generation - The existing GUS Graphics Export tool now also generates bitmap (.bmp) files for import into DOC3000.
DOC3000 is available as a standalone application or in a network environment with unlimited users. DOC3000's modular structure allows users to choose the functions that best fit their operating environments.
