Siemens SIMATIC® ET 200MP I/O System Offers Low Parts Variance, Scalable Operations

Lowers Need for Spare Parts

Simplifies Planning and Installation

Scalable

The new SIMATIC® ET 200MP I/O system from Siemens Industry Sector is designed with low parts variance, lowering the need for spare parts and simplifying machine planning and installation.

The new system includes digital I/O modules with extremely short filtering times and analog modules with conversion times down to 125µs for eight channels.

The digital modules offer IP20 degree protection and are scalable with a self-assembling backplane bus. They can be used as a central I/O for Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 controller and in a distributed configuration connected to PROFINET or PROFIBUS communications networks. As many as 30 ET 200MP I/O modules can be inserted into each station.

A mechanical slot coding system guarantees a clear assignment of module and front connector, reducing the chance for incorrect wiring and protecting the module against damage during replacement. The module also features electronic short-circuit protection.

The modules front screw and push in connector has a pre-latching position connecting the power supply. Rewiring and troubleshooting are possible during runtime.

The one-to-one arrangement of the modules and diagnostic LEDs clearly display operational status.  Each channel’s diagnostics allow fast and clear identification of process errors, reducing plant downtime. Module and channel status are displayed uniformly and in plain text – regardless of the module type. Errors are displayed for each specific channel, allowing them to be quickly located and eliminated.

An expandable cable storage space ensures that the station has a uniform appearance in the control cabinet even when larger cable cross-sections or wires with thicker insulation are used.
