Doble Engineering Delivers Dissolved Gas Analysis for Power Transformers with New Intelligent Sensor for On-line Condition Monitoring

WATERTOWN, Mass., --Doble Engineering Company, a global market leader in developing utility diagnostic instruments and services to energy generation, transmission, delivery and industrial companies worldwide, introduced this week the Doble Delphi, a dissolved gas analysis (DGA) instrument for the continuous monitoring of dissolved gases in oil, one of the first indicators of deterioration in power transformers.

The Doble Delphi is the newest addition to Doble's suite of on-line condition monitoring tools and is backed by Doble's decades of experience in condition assessments and oil analysis, with current products used in over 110 countries worldwide. The Doble Delphi delivers critical information in real-time, providing substation engineers with intelligent alerts and trend analysis to aid in the management of high-value assets.

"Dissolved gas analysis is a critical component of power transformer asset management and condition-based maintenance programs," says Tony McGrail, Solution Manager for On-line Diagnostics at Doble Engineering Company. "We've been working with our clients to give them a DGA product that meets their needs - at the quality level expected from Doble. The Doble Delphi provides both dissolved gas monitoring and moisture measurements and will set new standards in on-line monitoring."

The Delphi is a rugged device designed to withstand the harsh environment of a substation while intelligently tracking the byproducts of deterioration. The device is available as a hydrogen monitor or composite gas monitor and can be mounted directly to a transformer valve. It uses proven fuel cell technology and optional micro-pump circulation for accurate measurements with easy to read alarms that appear on the Delphi display and computer software. The Doble Delphi comes with the option to measure moisture in oil.
