BW Technologies Develops First Disposable, Event-Logging SO2 Detector
BW Technologies is pleased to announce the world's first disposable, event-logging, sulfur dioxide detector-GasAlertClip-EL for SO2.
GasAlertClip-EL's microprocessor technology provides a 2-year, 24-hour-per-day operational life. No sensor/battery replacement or calibration is required. Simply press the START/TEST button, and the instrument is fully operational.
In response to the demand for ease of use, GasAlertClip-EL's sophisticated internal self-testing ensures trouble-free operation throughout its life. Every 20 hours GasAlertClip-EL will remind the user to perform an automatic, full-function self-test, which checks the battery, sensor, circuit board integrity, display and audible/visual alarm functions. The user can also activate the self-test at any time simply by pressing the START/TEST button on the front of the unit. In addition to initiating the self-test, GasAlertClip-EL will also display the last alarm condition and the time elapsed since it occurred.
Weighing just 2.6 ounces / 73 grams, GasAlertClip-EL comes standard with an internal vibrator alarm and features: two alarm levels, an alphanumeric LCD display, high-output audible/visual alarms, and a "peak" hold function (maximum gas concentration during alarm plus time elapsed since peak exposure occurred). The instrument's operational life remaining is continuously displayed, from 24 months down to 0 hours.
End users are increasingly requesting that facilities have documented reports of gas exposures available. For this reason, BW has added event-logging capabilities to the GasAlertClip-EL. Event data is automatically logged for transmission to an infrared printer, eliminating the need for external software. Reports can be produced on demand, easily and with little cost to the user.
