IDT Introduces First DisplayPort-Based Solution to Provide Unlimited Extension from PCs/Mobile Device to Remote Monitors

Single Chip Solution Provides Signal Cleaning, Reconditioning and Renewing; Features Jitter Clean Up and Full Link Layer Repeat Functionality

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 29, 2009 - IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; NASDAQ: IDTI), a leading provider of essential mixed signal semiconductor solutions that enrich the digital media experience, today announced the IDT PanelPort(TM) LinkXtend(TM) solution - a DisplayPort(TM)-based single chip device that provides virtually unlimited cable extension for PCs and mobile computers to connect to monitors and projectors. The LinkXtend solution provides true signal quality enhancements when transmitting display signals over long distances as well as inefficient board layouts. The solution is well suited for applications such as telecommunications, industrial and cable adapters or in any environment where the transmission of video signals over long distances without sacrificing signal integrity is required.

The first in a series of signal integrity solutions by IDT, the LinkXtend device does not just amplify and re-drive signals, but it also cleans, reconditions and renews signal integrity, ultimately providing for the possibility of unlimited extension from a PC or mobile device to monitors, projectors and other display devices enabled by DisplayPort.

Providing the best possible design flexibility, the IDT LinkXtend device is the first single chip solution to provide full link layer repeat functionality while extending DisplayPort signal capability. The single four-lane input/single four-lane output device can be serially connected through a dongle-type device or implemented on a PC board to repair long trace routing signal degradation/reflections or inefficient board routing. The device also provides full HDCP security content support, transmitting secured data to downstream devices.

"IDT is committed to helping proliferate out the DisplayPort ecosystem. We recognize various unique and critical problems that need to be overcome before the DisplayPort standard can begin to experience broad scale adoption. Our LinkXtend product is a perfect example of a necessary solution that uniquely addresses customers needs to differentiate their product," said Ji Park, vice president and general manager of the IDT Video and Display Operation. "Like with our ViewXpand product, we recognize a critical problem experienced by our customers and we provide a groundbreaking solution to solve their problem that also helps extend the DisplayPort ecosystem."

The IDT LinkXtend device is a complete PHY and full protocol link layer repeat IC with jitter clean up reconditioning and reestablishing the signal while resetting the jitter budget to provide end-signal quality equal to the source. Additionally, it includes 2.7 GHz x 4 lanes, with a total 10.8 Gbps bandwidth that supports a maximum of 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. Following the IDT Power Smart initiative, the device requires no external AC adapter and uses limited power as required by the DisplayPort standard.

Pricing and Availability
The VLX1000 is currently sampling in an 81-pin BGA package. The device is priced at $7.50 in quantities of 1,000. For additional information on the solution, visit http://www.idt.com/go/linkxtend.

About the DisplayPort Standard
The DisplayPort interface standard, as approved by the video electronics standard association (VESA), is designed to be available throughout the industry as an open, extensible standard. DisplayPort was developed to reduce platform costs and drive a common digital interface across PC platforms and components. DisplayPort allows high-definition digital audio to be available to the display device over the same cable as the digital video signal and delivers true plug-and-play with robust interoperability. It is cost-competitive with existing digital display interconnects. For additional information on DisplayPort or on VESA visit www.vesa.org.
