CL6088 1/4 VGA liquid crystal display offers viewing area of 118 x 89.3 mm with resolution of 320 x RGB x 240 pixels. It is provided with interface connections to row and column drivers for direct connection to micro-controllers or microprocessors that incorporate color LCD controller. Display mode is RGB color, transmissive FSTN, and module incorporates single CCFL tube backlight. CL6088 requires 5 V logic supply and 26.2 V LCD bias supply.

Cost-Effective Color 1/4 VGA LCD Panel
Santa Fe Springs, April 22, 2002: Densitron introduces a new compact 1/4 VGA liquid crystal color display panel that offers a cost-effective high quality user interface to a wide range of products. These include consumer devices such as internet phones, and more specialized products such as medical monitors where quality, clarity and ease of readability of the display are paramount.
The CL6088 panel offers a viewing area of 118x89.3mm with resolution of 320 x RGB x 240 pixels. It is provided with interface connections to row and column drivers for direct connection to the many micro-controllers or microprocessors that incorporate a color LCD controller. The display mode is RGB color, transmissive FSTN, and the module incorporates a single CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent) tube backlight for maximum viewability in a wide range of ambient lighting conditions. A wide viewing angle further contributes to the quality of the display.
The overall dimensions of the panel are 154.6x1 14.4mm, yielding an excellent ratio of display area to overall size; building the module into an end product is greatly assisted by the depth of only 8.5mm. This dimension is made possible by the use of the latest construction techniques and selection of low profile driver components. The overall dimensions and fixing locations are common to a number of earlier 1/4 VGA panels, allowing for ease of replacement or upgrade in existing products.
The module requires a 5V logic supply and a 26.2V LCD bias supply, and at a typical frame rate of 70 Hz will have a current demand of 2.7mA from the 5V line, and 7.5mA from the 26.2V line.
The use of high quality color displays in products such as IP (internet protocol) video telephones is set to rise very sharply as these devices become more widespread in the coming months, and the CL6088 will become a favorite of designers in those sectors.
