Smart appliance from IPdisplays can drive LCD or plasma TVs of any size; Software-driven appliance requires no external PC to drive it
PLANO, Texas, June 3 -- IPdisplays LLC, a leading provider of smart LED signs for real-time data applications, today introduced a Digital Signage Player to complement its smart LED product line. This new digital signage player provides the ability to display real-time information about productivity, safety messages, and more, on LCDs and plasma displays -- with customizable, user-configured layouts. The Digital Signage Players are compact (about the size of a DSL modem) and easily can be mounted to the back of any LCD, plasma TV, or monitor. They are available immediately and cost $1,295.
"Our new smart digital signage player complements our smart LED product line, and was developed because LED displays are just not appropriate for some environments," said Kevin Hooks, IPdisplays' chief technology officer. Because they use the same open Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) software system developed by IPdisplays for its LED signs, these ARM9 microprocessor-based smart digital signage players can have data pushed to them or intelligently pull information from a variety of sources to provide immediate, real-time information to management and employees. Like the smart LED Displays, the Digital Signage Player does not require a host server to "drive" it, and it incorporates the latest Web services and XML technologies.
