Stealth(TM) 1200 V diode is designed for switch mode power supply, motor drive, uninterruptible power supply, welding power, and induction heating applications. It combines fast/soft recovery switching with low reverse recovery current to reduce switching transistor turn-on losses in hard-switched applications. Diode is available in single and dual packaged configurations in TO-220 and TO-247 packages, as well as surface mount TO-263 package.

New 1200v Stealth(TM) Fast/Soft Recovery Diodes Improve Efficiency, Reduce Emi And Save Space In High Power/High Frequency Applications
San Jose, Calif.-June 17, 2002- Fairchild Semiconductor International (NYSE: FCS) has extended its line of Stealth(TM) fast/soft recovery diodes with the introduction of a new series of 1200V, avalanche energy rated parts designed for switch mode power supply (SMPS), motor drive, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), welding power, induction heating and other high power/high frequency applications. Stealth technology combines fast/soft recovery switching with low reverse recovery current (IRRM) to reduce switching transistor turn-on losses in hard-switched applications. Soft recovery minimizes ringing to expand the range of conditions under which the diode may be operated without using additional snubber circuitry, while reducing EMI and improving system reliability.
"The new series of 1200V diodes expands our Stealth product line to give our customers the benefit of Stealth technology in higher voltage applications," said Tammy Kubasko, Business Manager, Discrete Power Division. "These devices perform extremely well as hard-switched boost diodes in power factor correction circuit designs. They are also a superior choice as snubber diodes and as freewheeling diodes in higher power switch mode power supplies, UPSs, and motor drives."
1200V Stealth diodes are available in single and dual packaged (common cathode) configurations in TO-220 and TO-247 packages, as well as in a surface mount TO-263 (D²PAK) package, for saving board space and simplifying assembly.
