Mobilygen Announces Industry's First Digital Video Recorder Design With High Definition Monitoring

16 Channel H.264 DVR Leverages Mobilygen's MG3500 H.264 Codec's Multi-Stream Capabilities

LAS VEGAS, March 31 /-- ISC West, Conference Room 3503 -- Mobilygen, a leading provider of low-power H.264 Codec solutions, today announced the security market's first digital video recorder design with high definition monitoring. The DVR, based on Mobilygen's MG3500 Codec ICs, can record up to 16 channels of full D1 resolution H.264 video while streaming multiple video channels over an IP network with low latency. The design also supports advanced analytics to aid in video monitoring and event detection.

"Security customers are no longer satisfied with low resolution images and are demanding full D1 resolution video recording," said Brian Johnson, vice president of marketing at Mobilygen. "Mobilygen's MG3500-based DVR design meets our customers' demands by delivering multiple streams of high-quality H.264 video with analytics, low-power consumption, and the ability to view it all on an HD monitor."

The DVR design also uses four Techwell TW2864 4-in-1 NTSC/PAL video decoders. "Techwell has made a determined effort through R&D and close collaboration with customers to develop the most integrated high-quality video decoders to process multiple video signals for surveillance applications," says Tom Krause, vice president of business development at Techwell. "We're pleased Mobilygen chose our TW2864 and look forward to delivering superior surveillance solutions together with them."

The DVR design provides state of the art DVR functions including:
-- up to sixteen channels of H.264 standard definition encoding at 480 fps
-- up to sixteen channels of CIF encoding at 480 fps
-- up to sixteen channels of standard definition H.264 decoding at 480 fps
-- embedded analytics
-- high-definition monitoring enables display of multiple standard definition images simultaneously

The MG3500 Codec IC is optimized for security applications and supports Mobilygen's smarter video(TM) features, including image stabilization, motion detection, object tracking, scene change detection, event-triggered HD still image capture, privacy region protection, burn-in, and digital time stamps and signatures. The MG3500 also provides the ability to combine all encoded and decoded videos into an HD monitor output with on screen graphics. Encoding of four D1 H.264 streams is achieved while consuming only 0.5 Watts of power, eliminating the need for cooling fans.

The DVR design includes the board, Codec firmware, application software, board schematics and gerber files to accelerate manufacturers' time to market. Pricing is $9,995, with systems being available in May, 2008.
