The DGy Codecs Now Support High Definition Resolutions up to 1920 x 1200

October 29, 2008, Alameda, CA - The DGy recording family has expanded with the new DGy(TM) 201HD model which records and replays imagery at up to 1920 x 1200 resolution.

DGy codecs offer JPEG2000 compression to achieve almost lossless recording. This wavelet-based codec provides results superior to more common DCT based compression schemes. The codec captures and compresses computer imagery, radar, sonar, FLIR, X-Ray and HD video at up to 1920 x 1200 resolution at 30 frames per second in real time. It delivers high fidelity reproduction of the most intricate details in any image.

The DGy 201HD's unparalleled feature set also includes external time code synchronization (IRIG-B or Network Time Server), event marking, and random access. The codec includes a removable hard disk and an optional fixed hard disk, offering recording storage from 8 to 24 hours per drive. Multiple DGy units can be interconnected to support simultaneous, synchronized recording of multiple channels. Remote playback on a Windows PC is supported using a JPEG2000 plug-in to the standard Windows Media Player.

The combination of superb image quality, rich feature set, compact size, portability, and robust performance makes the DGy 201HD the ideal solution for demanding, mission-critical applications including simulation, command-and-control, emergency operations centers, missile testing, and telemetry.

New Upgrade to HD and 1920 x 1200 Resolution Recording and Playback

Users can upgrade the existing DGy 201x model to add higher resolution recording capability. A factory-installed option is available which provides the same capabilities as the new DGy 201HD.

RGB Spectrum's recording and streaming technology has become the de facto standard in mission critical applications such as simulation, command-and-control, emergency operations centers, missile testing, security, and telemetry. Noteworthy installations include the F-35 Lightning III Joint Strike Fighter simulator program, the U.S. Army Future Combat Systems program, the U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, the U.S. Army Operational Test Command, and deployments on the U.S. Navy destroyer fleet, the Canada Navy frigate fleet, and the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.
