New Multifuntional Digital Display for Orbit® 3 Sensors

SI5500 Digital Read Out Interfaces with up to 31 Probes, Linear Encoders and Encoder Input Modules

BOGNOR REGIS, ENGLAND — Solartron Metrology, a world leader in digital gauging innovation (www.solatronmetrology.com) has introduced a new digital Read Out for its Orbit® 3 devices including digital probes, linear encoders and encoder modules.

The versatile SI5500 offers users the option to select data display formats and program metrology functions. It features an intuitive, menu-driven multiple channel display that can be programmed to display readings, set limits/alarms, peak hold, track or act as a data logger. The screen can be set up single-channel or multiple-channel configuration. It provides users with the ability to construct mathematical formulae and algebraic equations for a wide range of gauging applications.

The SI5500 reports dynamic min/max measurements, supports discrete Inputs/Outputs and offers RS232 connectivity to PCs and other peripherals. A password protection feature is also available for supervisory access.

Among the features of the SI5500 is a full-color LCD screen with 0.01µm display resolution, an institute menu with a suite of mathematical factors for each of its channels. If offers a user-selectable bar panel or text display and auto color change for in/out limit range.

Solartron Metrology is a world leader in design and manufacture of precision digital and analog dimensional LVDT gauging probes, displacement sensors, optical linear encoders and associated instrumentation. It is a unit of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with annual sales of more than US $3.3 billion.
