Series 26DBM bidirectional DLA provides linear resolution as fine as .0005 in. per pulse. Suitable for precise, measured control of fluids and gases, modified rotary stepper motor employs rotor that includes internally molded thread that mates to externally threaded shaft. Maximum pull-in rate is 600 step/sec. Series includes 24 models with Ferrite or Neodymium magnets and linear force to 8 lbs. Maximum travel rate is 0.52 in. and maximum linear force is 128 oz.

THOMSON AIRPAX MECHATRONICS INTRODUCES NEW DIGITAL LINEAR ACTUATOR THAT OFFERS HIGH PERFORMANCE IN A SMALL PACKAGE
Ronkonkoma, NY -- Thomson Airpax Mechatronics - a world leader in stepper motor technology - announces a bidirectional digital linear actuator (DLA) that provides high linear resolution as fine as .0005 in. per pulse.
The new actuator is ideal for precise, measured control of fluids and gases in such applications as HVAC refrigerant flow control, and measurement and dispensing of medical fluids.
Called "Series 26DBM," the DLA is a modified rotary stepper motor, with a rotor that includes an internally molded thread that mates to an externally threaded shaft (lead screw). Rotary motion is converted to linear movement, with the travel per step determined by the pitch of the lead screw and step angle of the motor.
Energizing the unit's coils (unipolar and bipolar) in proper sequence causes the threaded shaft to move out of, or back into the rotor in precise linear increments. When power is removed, the actuator shaft remains in position.
Weighing only 1.2 oz. (34 g.) with a maximum pull-in rate of 600 step/sec, the 24 models in the Series 26DBM feature two magnet types - Ferrite or Neodymium - and a linear force up to 8 lbs.
Series 26DBM is rated with a maximum travel rate of 0.52" (13.2mm) and a maximum linear force (2 phases energized) of 128 oz (35.6N).
