A Long-Distance And High Precision Detection: SUNX’s LS series Digital Laser Sensor

New Providence, NJ, May 3, 2004 – Aromat Corporation (Matsushita Electric Works, America) has introduced SUNX brand digital laser sensors LS series that offer a long-distance and high precision detection over a wide range of applications.

Equipped with a high power laser beam shooting a spot diameter of approx.1mm (0.039in), the LS series include 3 types of sensor heads as follows.

LS-H21F Spot Reflective type / Long detection range of 1000mm (39.970in)

LS-H22F Line Reflective type / Wide detection line of 200mm (7.874in)

LS-H91F Coaxial Retro-reflective type / Up to 7000mm (275.590in) detection

All three models feature compact sensor heads which are approximately the same size as SUNX’s general purpose photoelectric sensors, CX-400series, with a width of 11.2mm (0.441in) the slimmest in the industry. With the industry standard mounting pitch 25.4mm (1.000 in) and assorted mounting brackets compatible with the ones for the general photo sensors, installation of the LS is very easy.

With a built-in spot adjuster on the back of sensor head, the LS enables easy and accurate adjustment even after it has been installed, as a user can visually confirm the focal spot.

2 large 4-digit digital displays of the LS’s amplifier show the incident light intensity and threshold value simultaneously and display max.9,999 digits. The amplifier also comes with laser emission indicator.

Its 10mm-wide slim body and the interchangeable main & sub unit promise easy maintenance and space saving. The LS can be connected side by side with SUNX’s FX-300 fiber sensors between up to 4 sensors without interference.

Setting up and operating the LS series is also very easy, thanks to MODE NAVI, highly praised user interface originally developed for FX-300 series. The large MODE key and the large jog switch offer both multi-functionality and superior operability at the same time. Along with differential sensing mode, window comparator mode, Hysteresis mode and 2 independent output mode, the LS feature M.G.S function which eliminates saturation. Thus, the LS series is particularly ideal in the semiconductor, LCD, automotive and pharmaceutical/Food Packaging industries.

The LS series Digital Laser Sensors are currently available from stock, starting at $499 (MSRP).

SUNX is a leading brand of industrial sensor of Matsushita Group. Aromat Corporation, a US subsidiary of Matsushita Electric Works (Osaka, Japan), carries entire line of SUNX brand sensors for American market since 2002.
