MarCator 1088 Digital Indicator From Mahr Federal Provides Color Tolerance Display

-- Large backlit LCD display changes color to reflect in/out of tolerance condition
-- Indicator features USB, plus optional wireless, Digimatic and RS-232 connectivity

PROVIDENCE, RI -- Mahr Federal is putting a colorful face on gaging with its new MarCator 1088 Digital Indicator. The gage features at-a-glance tolerance monitoring with a large LCD display that appears green or red to reflect in- or out-of-tolerance conditions. Numerical tolerance ranges can be easily entered while the gage displays measured values. An analog display with a 4 mm pointer also assists visual recognition.

The MarCator 1088 is one of a new generation of digital indicators from Mahr Federal which provides USB connectivity and allows multiple indicators to be inexpensively linked to PCs through a USB hub without a multiplexer. Optional wireless, Digimatic and RS-232 connectivity are also available. In addition, for applications that require external activation and control of operational functions, the 1088 can be controlled by over 40 ASCII based commands.

For a small instrument, the new MarCator 1088 Digital Indicator packs in a lot of useful functions. Available in three measuring ranges--0.5 in. (12.5 mm), 1 in. (25 mm) and 2 in. (50 mm)--the MarCator 1088 is built to function comfortably in any shop floor environment and offers a number of dynamic and absolute measurement and tolerance functions. A MAX-MIN memory function is ideal for checking concentricity or flatness as well as searching for reversal points when measuring bores, and an Absolute function allows the indicator to be set in any position to 0.000 without losing reference to the preset value.

Error-free operation of MarCator Digital Indicators is enhanced with a Button Lock function that prevents unintentional activation of one or more operating buttons. Also available is a splash-proof model, the MarCator 1088W, which includes a sealed protection cap, rubber bellows on the measuring spindle, and a sealed battery compartment to provide protection against dust incursion and water jets to class IP54.

Mahr Federal Inc., a member of the Mahr Group, is known worldwide for its expertise in providing dimensional measurement solutions. The ISO 9001:2000-certified company manufactures and markets a wide variety of dimensional metrology products, and is headquartered in Providence, RI.
