VTI Releases High Performance Digital Input / Output (I/O) Module

VTI Instruments is pleased to announce the release of a new high-performance programmable digital I/O module, the EX1200-7500. This addition further enhances the capabilities of VTI's EX1200 Scalable Switch and I/O family of products.

The EX1200-7500 delivers 64 channels of digital I/O capability in an eight port configuration that can be individually configured for input or output operation. The I/O can be single buffered to provide real time data access, double buffered for synchronized data access, or configured with other modules as part of the EX1200 autonomous scan list function.

"The addition of these modules further expands the flexibility and versatility needed to meet ever-changing test system requirements," said Jon Semancik, VTI's Director of Marketing. "The scalable EX1200 provides cost-effective core platform switching and I/O capabilities without sacrificing performance or signal integrity."

Selectable output voltage levels, from 3.3 V to 60 V, combined with a high current handling capability of 300 mA, make this module ideal for driving and sensing external devices such as relays. All clamping diodes and open collector channels are pulled up internally, rather than on a per channel basis, to simplify system cabling. Deep on-board memory (up to 1MB) combined with high speed data rates (up to 2 MHz) make this ideal for a variety of digital simulation and pattern generation applications.

The EX1200 platform, recipient of 2010 "Best in Test" honors, is the highest density multifunction switching subsystem available, with unmatched scalability and expansion capabilities. Applications for the EX1200 series include signal switching and distribution, power supply switching, voltage and temperature monitoring, and ATE/functional testing.

LXI Class A capabilities provide a highly synchronized, distributed measurement system that performs data logging, monitoring and control. An embedded web interface provides virtual monitoring and control of all switches and instruments without the need for third-party software simplifying setup and debugging activities.
