This cutting edge technology was designed to merge the uses of digital web cam recording and hard disc recording. Sure to be the new sensation in the electronics industry, CAMWEAR digital camcorders will be available in limited quantities as early as May 31, 2003.
The technology allows the wearer to capture many keepsake moments that are often lost when operating conventional cameras or camcorders. The wearable memory module is similar in size and weight to a standard pager and easily clips to a belt. The dime size camera unit clips to eyeglasses, caps or visors. By positioning the camera unit on the glasses or cap, the wearer can record whatever he or she is looking at, "Hands Free". In addition, the cameras use a proprietary memory technique to buffer what the wearer is seeing. The cameras record what the wearer viewed up to 30 seconds BEFORE he or she presses the record button! Imagine, being able to record the spectacular view you just passed, or the bird that just flew by, or the fish that just made an awesome strike.
Capable of recording up to 4 hours of video with audio, the uses for this type of technology are endless. Easy to use out of the box, the cameras are equipped with 256MB DRAM, memory stick, rechargeable battery, USB connector, and VHF connector for TV display. The memory stick can also be replaced with an adapter for direct recording to PDA or laptop. When fully charged, the battery boasts enough power to sustain up to 8 hours of operation with a maximum of 4 hours recording time.
Aside from their obvious recreational applications, CAMWEAR wearable digital camcorders will be put to work in segments like the medical industry as well as law enforcement. Surgeons will now have the ability to clip the small lens to their safety goggles and record a close up view of an operation or procedure.
