Edmund Optics®' New TECHSPEC® Ground UV Fused Silica Diffusers Enhance Industrial Illuminator Diffusion


June 24, 2008, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces new TECHSPEC® Ground UV Fused Silica Diffusers. These highly toleranced, fully-specified TECHSPEC quality ground UV fused silica diffusers are in continual production. The manufacturing process utilizes a 220-grit sandblast to create an even, diffuse surface on the UV fused silica substrate. As each substrate undergoes two orthogonal passes during this sandblast, the resulting TECHSPEC filters offer a uniform diffusion across the surface. The scattering is a compromise of low scatter loss and medium diffusion.

Edmund Optics' TECHSPEC Ground UV Fused Silica Diffusers transmit in the UV wavelength range and provide high diffusion, which is ideal for a variety of industrial uses. Typical applications include use in screens, illuminator diffusion and targets.
