TMHE's Fuel Efficient Tonero Diesel Forklift Reduces CO2 Emissions

With 8% improved fuel efficiency, the optimised Tonero diesel engine from Toyota Material Handling Europe emits lower levels of CO2

Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) reveals the new diesel series of counterbalanced trucks from Toyota Tonero, ranging from 1.5t to 3.5t and providing customers with efficient engine solutions for 2013, inclusive of lower CO2 levels and improved fuel consumption.

This is achieved by using the Toyota 1DZIII industrial diesel engine. The 36kW engine features a new injection pump, regulating with greater efficiency the fuel used in the combustion process and consequently lowering both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

This engine complies with the latest 97/68/EC emissions regulations**.

The availability of this engine has been extended to all tonnages of the Toyota Tonero diesel models from 1.5 to 3.5 tonne lifting capacities.

Craig Walby, TMHE Product Management Director explains, “Listening to our customers, we understand their needs to improve efficiency in operation, manage their operational costs and aim for a more sustainable way of working.

With these latest developments in 2013 for our class leading Toyota Tonero diesel engine forklifts, we are helping our customers improve further - by reducing their operational cost linking to fuel consumption and lowering CO2 emissions. Also, by extending this more fuel efficient diesel engine to all tonnages on 1.5-3.5 tonne, we are increasing the choice for our customers.”

With sustainability as a fundamental value of Toyota Tonero’s design, these trucks are designed and manufactured for 99% recyclability at end-of-life in Toyota’s ISO 14001-certified plant in Ancenis, France.
