Sandvik Diemaking Products Broaden Range For Quality

Sandvik Steel's expanded family of flat bed diemaking rules offers higher wear resistance, better bendability, and cleaner cuitting for print, packaging and board converting applications. The Sandvik cutting rule family now includes Utility, Vertex
and Dieflex products.

Sandvik's Utility cutting rules are shaved- and ground-edge rules with medium-hard or extra-hard bodies. They are available in several different edge configurations and can be supplied in lower rule heights ideal for scoring applications.

Vertex rules have decarburized surfaces for exceptional bendability, and hard bodies for high wear resistance.

Sandvik Steel's Dieflex products, the world's first edge-hardened cutting rule, satisfies the contradictory requirements of good bendability and high wear resistance. First in the Dieflex product line is Dieflex Auto, developed specifically for automated rule bending equipment. It is edge-hardened for durability and offers good bendability. Dieflex Auto also meets close height and thickness tolerances and offers closely
controlled hardness for better quality and more efficient cutting forms. It is available in all standard rule heights and thicknesses.

Next, Dieflex Ultra rules come with a friction reducing coating on the cutting edge which results in longer and cleaner cutting with reduced slivers and dust. They too offer high wear resistance and good bendability. Dieflex Ultra cutting rules are ideal for food, pharmaceutical and medical processing applications where it is essential to eliminate contaminants.

Dieflex Superbend provides a minimum bending radius of 160°, while maintaining a high body and edge hardness. This cutting rule is available for forms requiring tight radius bends without cracking. Dieflex Superbend is available in straight lengths or coils, and is equally suited for manual and automatic bending machines.

Dieflex G12 and Superbend G12 feature a fine ground-cutting edge for greater edge sharpness, and dust-free cutting. When assembled in a diecutting form, the sharper cutting edge penetrates the substrate more easily. Since less cutting pressure is required, the life of the die is extended. Dieflex G12 and Superbend G12 improve the cutting ability for difficult-to-cut materials such as foils, coated and varnished cardboard and corrugated board, plastic, polyester and similar materials. Both are ideal for food and pharmaceutical packaging applications.

Designed for deep cutting applications such a plastic film for sandwich boxes, food and toy packaging, Dieflex Hard High Rule is an edge-hardened rule with high wear resistance, and longer life combined with good bendability. Straight lengths and coils
come with shaved or ground edges, in all standard edge bevel configurations, in 3pt or 4pt thicknesses, up to 4 in. high.

Sandvik Steel also offers a complete range of diemaking equipment including rule cutters, benders, notchers, lippers and bridgers.
